Albishorn is one of my favorite brands to follow as they create vintage-inspired watches, but instead of doing it like everyone else, they don’t take an old design and modernize it. They completely reimagine how the watch could have looked originally. They have previously done it with pieces like the Type 10, which brings a fresh vintage look to a pilot chronograph.

This time with the Marinagraph, they reinvent the Yachting chronograph. Watching and regatta have had a great friendship through the years, as the connection just makes so much sense. Yachting races test toughness, mental fortitude, and resistance. It is also a sport for the rich to watch, sponsor, and participate in. Watch makers can showcase the blend of toughness and elegance that their watches present to these powerful individuals, which has a trickle-down effect on the average consumer.

This week, they just released two new Marinagraphs, one called Classic Racing and the other Paraíba Racing. Both watches are limited to only 99 units. These combine the regatta chronograph function with a beautiful, unique skin diver case. The chronograph, like the Type 10, is a monopusher, which is something I am always a fan of.

These watches are the same in all aspects except for the dial, as the Classic edition has a sunburst black dial, which I feel contrasts greatly with the turquoise blue and red tones on the bezel and the rest of the dial. The other, and the one that has gotten most people’s eyes, has a sunburst turquoise dial. No matter the dial, my favorite looking feature on the watch is the Lume. I think it looks so unique and special.

As I said, they are only making 99 units of each watch. In terms of pricing, these fall in the mid luxury price range, coming at just shy of 4.000 CHF. I highly recommend that you take a closer look at their website, linked here.
