I will be completely honest to start this article. Before this morning, the day I am writing this, I had never heard of this brand before. I saw a post on Instagram showcasing these two new pieces, and I am so glad I did because the watches from Papar are insanely unique and interesting. When taking a look at Papar watches, the first thing you see and the thing that stands out most to me is the N of 1 case designs. They are all incredibly interesting, and there is no one who creates similar cases or does them to the quality as Papar.

They recently added a diver to the collection, the Cenote, which comes in two varieties, one of which is in a pure titanium case, while the otheris in a Rose gold PVD-coated titanium case. I am usually not big on titanium cases due to the fact that I rarely find them interesting, but this is one of those times I adore them. They previously had the Anillo as their GMT offering, which received a lot of praise, and understandably so.

But the Cenote is today’s focus, two watches, one with a rosegold PVD-coated case and black dial and black bezel, and the other titanium with a beige dial and blue Bezel. Both equally cool, I do prefer the blue and beige colorway though, I wish it were a blue and white colorway as I think that would have complemented the case and material better, but I digress. The dials are really my only gripe with the watch, at least from pictures, as they feel out of place on this case, and I don’t have an explanation for why or how to fix it; it is just the initial feeling I get from the watches.

Both pieces come in a very comfortable 40 mm, weighing only 60 grams, including the strap and buckle. It is very thin, which always scores points in my book, as it is only 10.9 mm while being automatic and having 200 meters of water resistance.  The bezel insert is ceramic, and despite my reservations about the dial, I must say that the lume is icredible especially on the blue versions, where it is almost like a sector dial when the lume is present. It uses a rather standard Myota 9015 with a sapphire crystal and a very handsome-looking sailcloth strap.
