A brand that I have talked a lot about since I started this website, L’Artisan, is back with a new limited edition piece. I talk about them for a good reason, the founder Arnoud is a lovely guy, and they make very unique designs with different stone dials that you don’t see in many other places. Last time we talked about them, it was about the MkII Charoite, a twist on the ever-popular Mk I with a new dark charoite dial instead of the normal charoite on the Mk I. That release was very successful, so he is back with a project he has been working on in the background for a while.

The new L’Artisan Heliotrope comes with a real bloodstone dial, decorated with Arabic numerals. This decision to have Eastern Arabic numerals was made by him to show his gratitude for how open the Middle Eastern market has been to his watches, and how he has expanded into that market and made many relationships, both in terms of business and in terms of true friendships. This decision was then more than a strict design decision but rather a personal one.

The watch is limited to just 50 pieces and will be numbered 1 through 50. After these are sold out, there will be no second batch. That’s it. The case is a comfortable 38 mm and houses an HZ5000A automatic movement. The decision was made to use a micro rotor movement rather than a traditional one to highlight the elegant nature of the watch by slimming it down. The movement has a standard 42 hours of power reserve and is beautifully decorated, especially the rotor.

The watch uses a domed sapphire crystal and the Heliotrope or bloodstone, as it is also known, which gives it a very unique and dynamic look, due to its use of a stone dial; no two watches will look the same, yet all will have the same stamp of beauty that buying a L’Artisan watch brings. The case back is open, making it possible to see the movement, and the watch uses a suede gray leather strap with a signed L’Artisan buckle.

I won’t keep this much longer, as you need to have quick hands to snag up a piece for yourself. According to the product page, these are estimated to ship at the end of March/ beginning of April. For around 1120 Euro you can have one of these highly limited pieces. I will leave a link to the product page here so you can take a closer look for yourself.

If you missed our latest article talking about L’Artisan, I highly recommend taking the time to read as it would mean a lot to me. I will link to it here. As always, I thank you for the read and hope you stick around. Until next time.
