Historically, Breitling has been phenomenal in terms of dress watches; their chronographs under Willy Breitling in the 40s and 50s were incredible, and despite falling off a cliff, be it a necessary one under the Schneiders, their reputation for great dress watches still persisted to a lesser extent. Now under Georges Kern, who has made it his mission since he took over the reins in 2017 to bring back the history and heritage, one of his first decisions was to bring back the Premier, which has been incredibly succsessfull, today, we have loads of different variants in a multitude of different colors. We have the 42 mm B01 variant with the popular automatic chronograph movement. We have two more pieces in 42 mm, one being the split chronograph using the manual wound B15 caliber named the Duograph, and then the Datora using the B25 caliber with an annual calendar. In addition to the new Lady Premiers and three different Turbillon colors.

The focus, however, will be on the 40 mm B09 hand-wound caliber. A variant here appropriately named the pistacio due to the pistacio-like green, it has, as far as I have seen and heard, been the most popular Premier model since its arrival on the market. Now, I would not say this watch is underrated; I think it is perfectly rated as one of the better Breitling offerings. In December of last year, there came two new Premier models, both of which have not been talked about enough, and I would go as far as to say that one of them may just be the best dress watch that Breitling currently has to offer.

Now the two pieces are a part of a Christmas capsule collection that Breitling received. All of them in rose gold, the thought behind the collection was to introduce new dials to their collections, which included a stunning Navitimer 41 mm in a greyish brown. The 42 mm Premier has a pretty nice dark blue, but for me, it is too large. Design-wise, after seeing it, it is a very beautiful watch. The other Premier model, and for me, the more exciting model is the smaller 40 mm B09.

This model has a dark green dial. We have seen similar ones in the Navitimer collection to big applause, with them looking great, as well as the 40 mm Chronomat GMT, which is fantastic, so we can see that Breitling really knows how to do green. This Premier model is absolutely stunning. After putting it on the wrist, it instantly went to the top of my list for the Premier line and close to the top of the wishlist for Breitling in general. Now, I have not seen a single person talking about it, which is very sad because this watch is criminally underrated. I get it, the watch is expensive for a Breitling due to the price, which I think is fair considering the metal is full 18kt rose gold.
